Addis Ababa police chief office said that the suspect who was going to hide by showing fake mobile banking receipt after talking to buy gold jewelry has been caught and the investigation is continuing.
Addis Ababa: November 19, 2018 E.C (Addis Police):- A man named Nathan Ha/Mariam who committed the crime of fraud on November 8 around 10:00 o'clock in Yeka sub-city woreda 8 Megenagna Bethlehem building.
The suspect went into a gold and silver shop and pretended to be a real buyer and chose a gold necklace with an estimated price of 289,632 birr and after negotiating the price, he agreed to pay the bill through mobile banking.
Yeka sub-city police department has stated that the person showed a fake receipt saying he has received the money after receiving the gold from the shop owner and tried to hide and seek. Police announced that the suspect was caught and expanded by making the fake document first and editing it on his phone and sending the price to private victims.
Addis Ababa police has conveyed the message that the community should make sure that money has been deposited into their account after it is sent to their account and if it is faced with fraud crime, it should continue to strengthen the tradition of giving advice immediately.
